Work Based Learning

DCTC in partnership with all nine of our schools is always looking to develop work-based learning (WBL) opportunities for our students. What is WBL? It is a full continuum of experiences such as presentations, field trips (in person or virtual), career fairs, informational interviews, job shadowing, entrepreneurial projects, mentoring, job placements, and career training experiences.

Are you interested in providing opportunities for our youth and building a pipeline? Fact: Students who are currently enrolled in Michigan's state-approved CTE programs can perform skilled jobs that average teenagers are not prepared to complete. See the Work-Based Learning: Myth vs. Fact sheet.

Special emphasis is placed on the WBL that employee students in their career pathway before graduation. Use these WBL experiences to partner with our students, instructors and programs.
