In the CTE CAD Drafting Program students are prepared to apply technical knowledge and skills to create products using techniques of precision craftsmanship or technical illustration. It provides a broad foundation of applied academics and transferable basic skills, plus occupationally-specific technical skills required to function in an increasingly complex and highly technological society and workplace. It includes instruction in technical skills and advanced computer software and hardware; creation of graphic representations and simulations in support of engineering projects; engineering graphics; two-dimensional and three-dimensional engineering design; solid modeling; engineering animation; computer-aided drafting (CAD) and auto-CAD techniques; and manufacturing design projects.
